A Message for Players that are Considering Registering for our Spring and Summer Programs

Due to the uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 situation, we cannot guarantee any of our summer programs will run. We also appreciate parents want to plan ahead and reserve spots for summer programs.

As a result, we have now set up our system so you may register for any summer program without making payment at this time. By registering you will be holding a spot for your child if the permits are granted.

If permits are not granted, and the program does not run, we will notify you and no refund will be necessary. If the school boards give us the green light to run the program, we will notify you and give you 10 days
to pay to hold your spot.

Thank you for understanding.

Development League (Winter 2020)

The Development League teaches the fundamentals of volleyball through a mix of instruction, drills, and competition. The Development League caters to participants in the following divisions: Grades 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-12.

The Grade 3-4 Development League is designed for players who have been a part of the Spikes Learn to Play program for numerous sessions and have achieved their Silver Certificate Medal.

Players who want to play in the Grade 5-6 Development League should have already played in our Spikes Learn to Play program and received a Silver Certificate Medal. Or, the child can be recommended for the program by the Spikes coach when receiving their ‘What’s Next’ report on the last class.

The Grade 7-8 Development League is an introductory volleyball league for middle school students who already have some experience playing volleyball e.g. Pakmen Technique Tutoring or Spikes for one or two seasons.

The Grade 9-12 Development League is an introductory volleyball league for high school students. They should have played in one of our programs before, or have some experience playing volleyball. If they are new to volleyball, we recommend they enrol in Technique Tutoring for one season, then move up to the Development League.

Each weekly session includes instruction and drills where players learn and practice serving, passing, and hitting, and how to play defense within a team system.

By the end of the program players will be more skilled individually and will be better team players.

All players receive an official Pakmen T-shirt and participate in a championship with medals and prizes on the last day.
