Jessy Satti
Jessy Satti is one of the most decorated players in Ontario Volleyball history, with over 70 OVA gold medals including four Provincial Indoor Championships, two Provincial Beach Championships and two National Championships, including the 2008 CanAm Championships and 18U Canadian National Championships. He led one of the most successful teams in OVA history for five consecutive years, winning a major championship every year. Known for being calm and cool under pressure, he continues his winning ways as a beach volleyball coach, who has already raked up more medals and championships in his first two years than most coaches will ever in their entire career.

Derek Quinn
Derek Quinn was part of one of the most successful teams in OVA history for four consecutive years, winning a major championship each year. His coaches and teammates considered him to be the most underrated player in the OVA and their most valuable, versatile and consistent player. He was, more than any other player, the reason his team won the 18U Canadian National Championships, passing dimes, digging everything in sight, and scoring every time, even on difficult sets in difficult situations. Derek, in 4 years at Humber, and after switching positions from left side (starter with Pakmen) to setter (starter with Humber), Derek has led the Humber Hawkes to 3 Provincial Championships in 4 years. Derek was named the Provincial Championships MVP in 2011 and 2012 and led Humber to the schools first National Championship in mens volleyball in 2012 – incidendly, Humber were the first Ontario team to win the Mens Volleyball Nationals in 28 years and only the second ever! Derek graduated with honours from the University of Guelph-Humber at the end of the 2012 season, earning a Batchelor of Science Degree in Justice Studies. Derek will be attending Humber College for the 2012-13 season to complete his varsity volleyball elligibility.

Terrel Bramwell
Terrel Bramwell learned to play volleyball after trying out for our 14U team. By his second year, he was named to the Canadian All-Star team and the rest is history. He was part of one of the most decorated teams in Ontario Volleyball history, winning a major championship every year they played together (five years). He was named to the Canadian All-Star team on multiple occasions and was named the 18U Canadian National Championships M.V.P. after helping his team win gold. He was named to the Provincial team as well. Terrell, in just over two years at Humber College, Terrell established himself as the most feared attacker in OCAA and CCAA mens volleyball. Terrell set many OCAA and CCAA scoring records during his time at Humber while leading the Hawkes to 2 Provincial Championships and a National Championship. Terrell was rewarded for his outstanding play at the 2012 Nationals being named the tournament MVP. Terrell was selected to participate in the 2012 national team try-outs, and Terrell’s incredible attacking abilities were recognized by the national program as he has made the team!

Jordon Langley
Jordon Langley was the captain of one of the most successful teams in OVA history, having won a major championship each year (five years), including the 2008 18U Can Am Championships and the 18U Canadian National Championships. He was known for his hitting power, lightning quick reflexes and competitive spirit on the court. Jordon was named to the Canadian All-Star team on one occasion and is currently playing left side for the Humber Hawks (Humber College), helping them win a Provincial Championship in his very first year.

Karim Khalil
Karim Khalil is a natural born leader. Even though he never actually played Rep volleyball for Pakmen, he made the most of his short tenure at the Champions League program and went on to play for the York Lions. With his first year playing competitive volleyball coming in university, Karim did all he could to catch up to his teammates. “When I started out, I was at a huge disadvantage,” says Khalil. “I made up for it by putting in all the extra practice hours to catch up to all my peers.” Khalil’s illustrious career includes winning the Gator Excellence Award, Valedictorian honours, the Queen Elizabeth II Award, the CIS academic all-Canadians Honorrs, the OUA’s Dale Iwanoczko Sportsman Award and York´s Stuart G. Robbins Award. On top of that, he was Team Captain of the York Lions for three seasons. When asked about Karim, OUA All-Star and fellow York University teammate Ray Szeto had this to say, “Karim was an amazing leader and a role model as a captain and as a friend. Everyone just looked up to Karim, because he was a natural born leader.” Karim just received his bachelors degree and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Kinesiology from York University.

Daniel Dearing
Daniel Dearing started training with Pakmen during the 17U beach season and skyrocketed from a tier two beach player to the #1 ranked 17U team in Canada. He joined our 18U indoor team and helped lead our team to gold at the 2008 CanAm Championships and the 2008 18U Canadian National Championships, where he scored the match winning point and was named to the Canadian All-Star team, despite playing with a severely sprained ankle. On the beach that summer, he and his beach partner Kristian Kuld won the 2008 Junior Olympics in Puerto Rico and the 2008 18U Provincial Beach Championships, despite playing with injuries. Kadeem Clarke
Kadeem Clarke is the long time teammate and beach partner of Jessy Satti and is also one of the most decorated players in Ontario Volleyball, with over 70 OVA gold medals, including four Provincial Indoor Championships, two Provincial Beach Championships and two National Championships, including the 2008 CanAm Championships and 18U Canadian National Championships. He was a key player on one of the most successful teams in OVA history for five consecutive years, winning a major championships each year. Kadeem currently plays left side for the Sheridan Bruins (Sheridan College).

Kristian Kuld
Kristian Kuld started training with Pakmen during his during the 17U beach season and skyrocketed with Dearing to the #1 ranked 17U team in Canada. He joined our 18U indoor team and helped our team to gold at the 2008 CanAm Championships and the 2008 18U Canadian National Championships. On the beach that summer, he and his beach partner Daniel Dearing won the 2008 Junior Olympics in Puerto Rico and the 2008 18U Provincial Beach Championships, despite playing with injuries. After an incredible year with Pakmen, Kristian retired from his other passion, soccer, and decided to tryout for the legendary Al Scates and the NCAA All-Time leaders, the UCLA Bruins. Kristian was the first walk on tryout player to make the team in a decade!

David Williams
David Williams was once described as the most talented player in the OVA, both indoor and on the beach. He was named to the Provincial Team twice and the Canadian All Star team on multiple occasions. He was a key player on the 18U Canadian National Championship team and received many full scholarship offers after that match.

Niko Rukavina
Niko Rukavina started playing rep volleyball in grade 12, playing on our 18U team. Through hard work and a natural aptitude for the game, he earned a starting spot in the right side by mid-season and was the best player on the team by season end. He was recruited by Brenda Willis, the head coach of Queen’s University the following year. According to Coach Willis: “Niko has been an exceptional contributor in the Queen’s Gaels program. During his time here, we earned 2 OUA Gold medals and 2 OUA silver medals and placed 4th and 5th in the CIS Championships. Despite entering Volleyball quite late in his high school years, he caught the eye of the university coaches while playing for Pakmen. Over his career, he developed into one of the best all-around players I have coached in my 25 years at Queen’s. He has evolved into their best passer, best blocking left-side, and in 2012, he also served as the captain on the floor and the quarterback of their serve receive. Unfortunately, due to an ankle injury, Niko wasn’t able to jump until very late in the season this year. That didn’t stop him from contributing though. He played backcourt for Queen’s until he was able to swing again and did a great job in both positions. So well, in fact, that he was recognized as the OUA Libero of the Year in his final year as well as being named an OUA All-Star”.
