Accomplishments
For more than two decades, Pakmen Volleyball has helped athletes progress from their first years in the sport to Canada’s national teams and the highest levels of international competition.
Pakmen alumni have competed at the Olympic Games, Volleyball Nations League, World Championships, Pan American competitions, NORCECA Championships and youth national-team events around the world.
3 PAKMEN OLYMPIANS
Three Pakmen alumni have represented Canada at the Olympic Games—two in indoor volleyball and one in beach volleyball.
Tokyo 2020
A Pakmen athlete from 2011–2016, Sharone won multiple indoor and beach Provincial and National Championships before progressing to Canada’s Senior National Team and the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Paris 2024
An 18U Provincial and National Champion and National Championship MVP with Pakmen, Xander progressed through Canada’s national-team system to the Senior National Team, VNL, World Championships and Paris 2024.

A member of Pakmen’s first 18U National Championship team in 2008 and a tournament All-Star, Daniel became one of Canada’s top beach volleyball players and represented Canada at Paris 2024.
2026 Volleyball Nations League
Sharone Vernon-Evans, Xander Ketrzynski, Jackson Young, Cory Schoenherr and Quintin Greenidge appeared together on Canada’s Week 2 VNL roster—another milestone for Pakmen’s athlete-development pathway.
2025 World Championship
Sharone Vernon-Evans, Xander Ketrzynski and Jackson Young represented Canada at the 2025 Men’s World Championship, where Canada advanced to the round of 16.

UNITED STATES UNIVERSITY VOLLEYBALL
Pakmen graduates have gone on to compete for some of the most recognizable programs in NCAA men’s volleyball.
NCAA Indoor
UCLA
One of Pakmen’s most accomplished NCAA indoor alumni, Cole Ketrzynski continued his career with NCAA powerhouse UCLA.
Ketrzynski was a two-time 18U National Champion and two-time 18U Provincial Champion with Pakmen before continuing his career at UCLA and eventually into professional volleyball.

Ball State University
Wil Basilio developed into one of the top Canadian players in NCAA men’s volleyball while competing for Ball State.
Basilio helped Ball State capture the 2026 MIVA Tournament Championship and advance to the NCAA semifinals. Wil was a two-time 18U National Champion with Pakmen before going to Ball State.

University of Hawaiʻi
After two outstanding seasons at the University of Windsor, Pakmen libero Quintin Greenidge made the jump to NCAA powerhouse Hawaiʻi and immediately established himself as one of the top defensive players in NCAA men’s volleyball. He previously won an 18U National Championship with Pakmen.
Before Hawaiʻi, Greenidge was an OUA Second Team All-Star, OUA All-Rookie Team selection and U SPORTS All-Rookie Team selection with Windsor.

Princeton University
Owen Mellon took his Pakmen career to the Ivy League, competing for Princeton University’s NCAA Division I men’s volleyball program.
Mellon played for Pakmen from 13U through 18U, serving as a team captain for four years before continuing his academic and volleyball career at Princeton.
UNITED STATES BEACH VOLLEYBALL
Pakmen’s success at the NCAA level extends to the beach.
The club’s beach program has helped develop athletes capable of competing for some of the premier NCAA beach volleyball programs in the United States.

University of Hawaiʻi
Kaylee Glagau put together one of the greatest NCAA careers of any Pakmen graduate.
Glagau and Brooke Van Sickle became the first pair in Hawaiʻi history to earn back-to-back AVCA First Team All-American honours. She completed her career with 103 victories, becoming just the third player in program history to reach 100 career dual wins.

TCU
Emma Glagau continued the Glagau family’s NCAA beach volleyball tradition at nationally ranked TCU.
Glagau recorded an 11-6 record during her freshman season and competed for TCU at both the conference and NCAA Championships.
CANADIAN UNIVERSITY VOLLEYBALL
Pakmen alumni have made a major impact throughout Canadian university volleyball, competing in the OUA, Canada West, RSEQ and AUS.
Graduates have become national champions, conference champions, All-Canadians, conference Players of the Year and some of the best university volleyball players in the country.

Kaden Schmidt has developed into one of Canada’s premier university volleyball players at perennial powerhouse Trinity Western.
Schmidt has continued the Pakmen tradition of athletes excelling at the very highest level of Canadian university volleyball.

Xander Ketrzynski made an immediate impact at the university level, becoming one of the most dominant young players in U SPORTS.
His dominant university career helped launch him into professional volleyball and eventually the Canadian Olympic Team.

Pakmen graduate Jenna Woock developed into one of Canada’s premier university middle blockers during her career with the University of Toronto.
In her final season at Toronto, Woock led both the OUA and U SPORTS with a .451 hitting percentage while earning OUA MVP and First Team All-Canadian honours.

McMaster University
One of the newest members of Pakmen’s growing group of U SPORTS All-Canadians, Olivia Julien has become a standout for the McMaster Marauders.

Brandon Koppers was a key member of one of the most successful eras in McMaster men’s volleyball history, winning an OUA championship in every season he played with the Marauders.
Koppers completed his university career with five OUA championships and five U SPORTS national medals before moving on to professional volleyball and Canada’s National Team.

University of Alberta / University of Toronto
Chris Towe enjoyed success at the highest level of Canadian university volleyball, winning a national championship with Alberta before finishing his career as an All-Canadian with the University of Toronto.
Towe helped Alberta capture the U SPORTS National Championship before returning to Ontario, where he became the first University of Toronto men’s volleyball player in a decade to earn All-Canadian honours.

McMaster University
Pakmen alumnus Matthew Rugosi developed into one of the top liberos in the OUA during his five-year career with the McMaster Marauders.
Rugosi finished his McMaster career with a record-breaking 2025–26 season, leading the OUA with 2.96 digs per set while setting both McMaster’s single-season and all-time career records for digs. A six-year Pakmen athlete and team captain before entering university, Rugosi continued the club’s strong tradition of developing elite liberos at the post-secondary level.

Université Laval
Pakmen setter Ethan Ellison put together an outstanding five-year career with one of Canada’s premier men’s volleyball programs at Université Laval.
Ellison became an immediate contributor at Laval, earning U SPORTS All-Rookie honours in his first season before developing into one of the top setters in the RSEQ.

Queen’s University
After joining Pakmen late in his youth career, Niko Rukavina developed into an outstanding university player and leader at Queen’s.
Rukavina developed into one of Queen’s most versatile players, eventually earning OUA Libero of the Year honours in his final season while helping the Gaels become one of Ontario’s premier programs.

Toronto Metropolitan University / McMaster University
Navreet Suhan competed for two of Ontario’s top university programs during his U SPORTS career, first with TMU and later with McMaster.
Suhan earned OUA All-Star recognition at TMU before joining McMaster and helping the Marauders capture an OUA Championship.

Pakmen’s post-secondary success extends into Canadian collegiate volleyball, where graduates have won national championships, Player of the Year awards, All-Canadian honours and numerous provincial championships.

Few Pakmen graduates have collected as many post-secondary accolades as Janelle Albert.
Albert achieved major success at both the university and college levels, establishing herself as one of the most decorated post-secondary athletes in Pakmen history.

One of the greatest players in Pakmen history became one of the most dominant athletes in Canadian collegiate volleyball.
Bramwell helped Humber capture its first men’s volleyball national championship and went on to compete professionally and within Canada’s National Team program.

Pakmen graduate Derek Quinn was another key member of Humber’s historic championship era.
After playing left side for Pakmen, Quinn transitioned to setter at Humber and helped lead the Hawks to three provincial championships and the school’s first men’s volleyball national title.

Jake Gomes became one of the country’s top collegiate setters while playing for Humber.
Gomes helped lead Humber through a perfect 22-0 season while earning national recognition.
