JUNE 4 – GRADE 7 | June 5 – GRADE 8

GIRLS PLAY AT THOMAS STREET MS BEACH COURTS
BOYS PLAY AT DAVID LEEDER MS BEACH COURTS

Weather Guarantee – in the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the
Pakmen Courts – Pakmen’s 7 court indoor facility in Mississauga

Schools can bring up to 12 players

Players will receive a beach volleyball clinic in the morning run by Pakmen Volleyball Club coaches

We will then mix players from each school to create equal teams and players will compete in a tournament

The event will begin at 10 am (teams may arrive early if they want) and run until 4:30 pm.

Skills Clinic
The skills clinic will support physical literacy by teaching and enhancing movement skills and strategies. This will make students more competent on the sand and the tournament portion more enjoyable.
Tournament
Beach volleyball is a very different form of physical activity. Exposing and engaging students in this growing sport provides exposure to a unique form of active living that can support personal wellness for life.
By the end of the Unity Games, students will:

B-1: demonstrate an understanding of the importance of being physically active;
C-1: perform movement skills, demonstrating an understanding of the basic requirements of the skills and applying movement concepts as appropriate;
C2: apply movement strategies appropriately, demonstrating an understanding of the components activity, in order to enhance their ability to participate successfully in those activities.
