FOR PAKMEN REP PLAYERS ONLY

- Learn about 12U to 14U High Performance Skills TrainingThe Pakmen Position Training Program 12U to 14U is designed for Pakmen rep players who are currently playing on one of our competitive teams for the 2024/2025 season.
The program is designed to develop the complete volleyball player and give each athlete the opportunity to learn the sport in its entirety coupled with superior position specific technical skills. It is divided into three parts for this age group: Setter training, Libero training, and Outside Hitter training. All athletes participating in this program will undergo comprehensive training in all three of the above disciplines.
Setter Training will teach each athlete the fundamentals of being a setter. The technical focus will be on footwork and hand contact, but athletes will also work on the decision-making aspects of the position. There will be a large emphasis on setting location and good body posture. Setting targets will be used during this program to improve each athlete’s setting accuracy and provide them with appropriate success criteria to aid their development.
Libero Training will focus on the fundamentals of passing and defending through footwork drills and platform refinement. There will be a strong emphasis on correct technique, cue reading, and decision making. Passing and defending are universal skills that will help these young athletes develop, regardless of their future specialized positions. Hitting boxes will be used to provide defenders with more accurate and meaningful reps, enhancing their defensive posture and ball-digging skills.
Outside Hitter Training will concentrate on the technical aspects of the arm swing and developing each athlete’s jump approach. At the youngest ages, athletes are required to play every position, and being an effective hitter is important for all players. Outside hitter training will also include components of secondary setting, passing, and defense. Hitting boxes will be used during training sessions to develop strong arm swings without the wear and tear caused by excessive jumping.
