Pathways for Grades 7 to 12

We are often asked, what programs do we offer youth in grades 7 to 12 and what program is right for their teenager? Please read the following steps to see where your son or daughter fits in.

Step 1 – Technique Tutoring and Development League

We recommend your son/daughter start in Technique Tutoring (semi private lessons) if they have no experience playing volleyball. If they have limited experience, they may want to start in Technique Tutoring anyway, as it’s a great place to learn the basic techniques of volleyball in a supportive, small group environment, or they can begin in the Development League which is suited for beginners.

Step 2 – Champions League

Champions League is for players with significant experience playing volleyball (e.g. 2 years or more) or players who were promoted by the coach (What’s Next report card) from the Development League.

Step 3

a) GTA Premier League, Pakmen Plus and Gettn Better

If your son/daughter has played on a school team before or they have very good skills we recommend GTA Premier League (Girls) or Pakmen Plus (Boys). If they prefer training/skill development only, Gettn Better is a co-ed program which focuses on techniques and training rather than game play.

b) Middle School Volleyball League or High School Volleyball League

The Middle School Volleyball League and High School Volleyball league are an alternative option for Intermediate/Advanced players who want less instruction and more game play. Players warm up and work on one skill for 20 to 30 minutes and the remaining time is spent playing games.
