The Development League teaches the fundamentals of volleyball through a mix of instruction, drills, and competition. The Development League caters to participants in the following divisions: grades 3/4, 5/6 and 9 to 12.
The grade 3/4 Development League is designed for players who have been a part of the Spikes Learn to Play program for numerous sessions and have achieved their Silver Certificate Medal.
Players who want to play in the grade 5/6 Development League should have already played in our Spikes Learn to Play program and received a Silver Certificate Medal or the Spikes coach needs to recommend them to this program when they receive their ‘What’s Next’ report on the last class.
The grade 9-12 Development League is an introductory volleyball league for high school students. They should have played in one of our programs before or have some experience playing the volleyball. If they are new to volleyball, we recommend they enrol in Technique Tutoring for one season, then move up to the Development League.
Each weekly session includes instruction and drills where players learn and practice serving, passing, and hitting, and how to play defense within a team system.
By the end of the program players will be more skilled individually and will be better team players.
All players receive an official Pakmen T-shirt and participate in a championship with medals and prizes on the last day.
