15U Boys win Western Nationals
Written by Carlos Figueira
The Pakmen 15U Boys went to Regina with a clear mission. To win! They were challenged with having to drive over 60km each way to their hotel in Moose Jaw. The 5 am wakeup call did not seem to faze their court play. Without a loss in the first two days of the tournament, with 300 points for and 134 against was a dominating statement. Breezing through quarters and semis now set the stage for the number #1 and #2 ranked teams in the tournament to battle in the finals. The Canucks White team from Calgary also had a dominating tournament leading to the final match. What a game! The Canucks came out strong winning the first set 25/19. Pakmen won the second set 25/21.
The arena was loud with energetic heading into the third and final set. The Canucks made it to 8 first with a lead of 8/6. The very next point would be the TSN turning point that carried the Pakmen to 15 and the Western National Champions. Both teams should be proud of their play and sportsmanship. This truly was a great game to watch with 2 great teams. Congratulations to the Western National Champions PaKmen 15U boys.
