World Championship is another prestige sport event for volleyball players. FIVB Volleyball World Championship brings together the best volleyball teams and the most talented players from around the world. Volleyball Men’s World Championship took place in Czechoslovakia (1949), Soviet Union (1952), France (1956), Brazil (1960), Soviet Union (1962), Czechoslovakia (1966), Bulgaria (1970), Mexico (1974), Italy (1978), Argentina (1982), France (1986), Brazil (1990), Greece (1994), 1998 (Japan), 2002 (Argentina), 2006 (Japan), 2010 (Italy) and 2014 (Poland).

The next Volleyball Men’s World Championship is going to be hosted in Bulgaria and Italy in 2018. Now, it’s time to open up the new chapter in the history of men’s volleyball. Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2018 will start on 9 September and last till 30 September.

The volleyball matches will be organized in 6 cities of Italy (Rome, Florence, Bari, Accaro, Casalecchio di Reno and Turin) as well as 3 cities of Bulgaria (Ruse, Varna and Sofia). Italy is going to host Volleyball Men’s World Championship for the 3-rd time and Bulgaria is going to host Volleyball Men’s World Championship for the 2-nd time in the history of volleyball sport.

The top 24 world’s volleyball teams are going take part in the Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2018. Among national men’s volleyball teams that are going to participate in World Championship 2018 are: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Canada, China, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Italy, Iran, Japan, Egypt, Finland, France, Netherlands, Poland, Puerto Rico, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Tunis as well as United States.

Volleyball teams which are going to participate in the Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2018 will be divided into 4 groups (group A, group B, group C and group D). Each of groups will consist of 6 teams.

– Italy, Argentina, Japan, Belgium, Slovenia as well as Dominican Republic will play in group A. The matches of group A will take place in Italy (Rome and Florence).

– Brazil, France, Canada, Netherlands, China as well as Egypt will play in group B. The matches of group B will take place in Bulgaria (Ruse).

– United States, Russia, Serbia, Australia, Tunis as well as Cameroon will play in group C. The matches of group C will take place in Italy (Bari).

Italy (3 Gold Medals and 1 Silver Medal)

The Italy men’s national volleyball team is another volleyball team that has won the Volleyball Men’s World Championship three times. The Poland national men’s volleyball team has won 2 Gold medals (1974 in Mexico and 2014 in Poland) as well as 1 Silver medal (2006 in Japan) at the Volleyball Men’s World Championship. Poland has defeated Soviet Union (3 – 1) and Brazil (3 – 1) in the finals.

Germany (1 Gold Medal and 1 Bronze Medal)

The Germany men’s national volleyball team has won 1 Gold medal (1970 in Bulgaria) as well as 1 Bronze medal (2014 in Poland) at the Volleyball Men’s World Championship. Germany has beaten Bulgaria (Round-robin) in the finals.

United States (1 Gold Medal and 1 Bronze Medal)

The United States men’s national volleyball team has won 1 Gold Medal (1986 in France) as well as 1 Bronze medal (1994 in Greece) at the Volleyball Men’s World Championship. United States has beaten Soviet Union (3 – 1) in the finals.
