Greatest Volleyball Women’s World Championship Winners

Olympic Games as well as World Championship are the two most prestige volleyball tournaments. Volleyball players usually do their best to get ready for these competitions in the best possible way.

It’s important to know that the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship has taken place since 1952. The competition was held in the Soviet Union in 1952, in France in 1956, in Brazil in 1960, in the Soviet Union in 1962, in Japan in 1967, in Bulgaria in 1970, in Mexico in 1974, in the Soviet Union in 1978, in Peru in 1982, in Czechoslovakia in 1986, in China in 1990, in Brazil in 1994, in Japan in 1998, in Germany in 2002, in Japan in 2006, in Japan in 2010 and in Italy in 2014. The next FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship is going to take place in Japan in 2018. It’s worth noting that Japan is going to host the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship for the 5-th time in the history of volleyball sport.

The FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2018 will be held in six cities of Japan. The competition will begin on 29 September and last till 20 October 2018. The top 24 women’s national volleyball teams will participate in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2018.

Among the women’s national volleyball teams that have already qualified for the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2018 are: Argentina, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Canada, China, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Mexico, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey as well as the United States.

During the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2018 teams will play in four pools – pool A, pool B, pool C and pool D. Six volleyball women’s teams will play in each pool.

Japan, Netherlands, Argentina, Germany, Cameroon as well as Mexico will play in the pool A.

China, Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria, Canada as well as Cuba will play in the pool B.

The United States, Russia, South Korea, Thailand, Azerbaijan as well as Trinidad and Tobago will play in the pool C.

Serbia, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Kazakhstan and Kenya will play in the pool D.

Among the women’s national volleyball teams that have won the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship are: Cuba, China, Japan, Italy, Russia and the United States. Such women’s national volleyball teams as Brazil, Poland, Peru and Romania have also demonstrated excellent results at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.

The Brazil women’s national volleyball team has won 3 Silver medals (in Brazil in 1994, Japan in 2006 and Japan in 2010) as well as 1 Bronze medal (in Italy in 2014) at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.

The Poland women’s national volleyball team has won 1 Silver medal (in the Soviet Union in 1952) as well as 2 Bronze medals (in France in 1956 and in the Soviet Union in 1962).

The Peru women’s national volleyball team has won 1 Silver medal (in Peru in 1982) as well as 1 Bronze medal (in Czechoslovakia in 1986) at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.

The Romania women’s national volleyball team has won 1 Silver medal (in France in 1956) at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.

The Cuba women’s national volleyball team has won 3 Gold medals (in the Soviet Union in 1978, in Brazil in 1994 and in Japan in 1998) as well as 1 Silver medal (in Czechoslovakia in 1986) at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in the history of volleyball sport.

The Cuba women’s national volleyball team has defeated Japan (3 – 0), Brazil (3 – 0) as well as China (3 – 0) and lost to China (3 – 1) in the finals of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.

China (2 Gold Medals and 3 Silver Medals)

The China women’s national volleyball team has won 2 Gold medals (in Peru in 1982 and in Czechoslovakia in 1986) as well as 3 Silver medals (in China in 1990, in Japan in 1998 and in Italy in 2014) at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in the history of volleyball sport.

The Italy women’s national volleyball team has won 1 Gold medal (in Germany in 2002) at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in the history of volleyball sport.

The Italy women’s national volleyball team has defeated China (3 – 1) in the finals of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.

The United States (1 Gold Medal, 2 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze Medals)

The United States women’s national volleyball team has won 1 Gold medal (in Italy in 2014), 2 Silver medals (in Germany in 2002 and in Japan in 1967) as well as 2 Bronze medals (in Barcelona in 1992 and in Rio de Janeiro in 2016) at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in the history of volleyball sport.

The United States women’s national volleyball team has defeated China (3 – 1) and lost to Japan (round-robin) as well as Italy (3 – 2) in the finals of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.

The United States has also beaten Japan (3 – 1) as well as Cuba (3 – 1) in the 3-rd place matches of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.
