Pakmen U18 Boys are the Ontario Champions!
Our 18U Boys team won gold at the Tier 1, Ontario Provincials Championships this past weekend at RIM Park in Waterloo.
The OVA introduced a new format this year with playoff matches being best 3/5 to prepare 18U athletes for the next level.
In the Quarterfinals they defeated the FCVC Green 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-17). In the Semi-finals they defeated the Ottawa Maverick Mustangs 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-17).
Pakmen was able to avenge their loss in Pool play against KW Preds who had beat them 2-1. In the finals Pakmen won 3-0 (25-19, 25-11, 25-18).
The club is incredibly proud of these boys, finishing their final year as the top team in Ontario before heading into Nationals.
Head coach Jessy Satti shared some thoughts on the win, he has been the head coach of this group since they were 15U.
“This is something that we have been talking about as a team since 15U. A lot of the things we have done, decisions that have been made have been to best prepare these boys for 18U. I couldn’t be more proud of the group, when we got into the finals I could see how badly they wanted to win”.
