U of T Women Host Ms Pakmen 16 at Goldring Centre

“On Monday, March 23, the CIS 4th place UofT Women’s Volleyball Team hosted our 16U Girls Pakmen team at the new Goldring Center at its downtown campus.

The Pakmen girls were invited to join and participate in a practice with the varsity team, run by 2015 CIS Coach of the Year Kristine Drakic. The girls were put through an intense workout in the stunning new facility, as well as given the opportunity to interact with the team members to gain perspective on what their volleyball career looked like at 16u and the path they took to play at the post secondary level.

The girls loved the opportunity to partake in a post secondary practice environment, as well as see what level they need to take their own games to over the next 3 years. This was an awesome reward for a very successfull regular season for the team.

They won all 3 premier level tournaments at 16u, and also added a 17u premier gold back in December for good measure. They will look to cement this success next month at the Ontario Championships, then Nationals in May.

The team would like to thank Kristine Drakic and the UofT Varisty Blues for this experience.”
