I recently read an article with a very important message called “Being responsible for your actions… in sport and in life!” by Robert Poole. In the article, Robert talks about how we are conditioned to avoid responsibility and how important it is, especially as young athletes, that we learn to face it and grow from it. He goes over a few different methods that he used as a player in college to ensure the session started off the way he wanted it to. Listening to his favourite music or writing down things that have been bothering him during the day on a piece of paper and then ripping it up seemed to help him a lot. He also has some things you can do as a team member or as an individual to help you become a more responsible athlete. If you are interested, give the article a read here.
