Leça to coach Pakmen U13 Boys
Pakmen Volleyball is thrilled to announce that Thomas Leça has agreed to coach our U13 Boys rep team for the 2014-2015 OVA Competitive Season. Leca will be joined by well respected coach James Gomez. Leça, a Physical Education and Health teacher at North Park Secondary School brings a wealth of volleyball experience to this position. In the relatively short time he has been at North Park S.S., he has helped build that program into a volleyball powerhouse in Peel. He was also a very successful coach at Pakmen in the past, helping to guide our U15’s to a Provincial Championship and then taking his own U13 team to a Gold medal even though there was no U13 age division the year he coached them and they had to play U14 all season.
“Tom will make our club a better club the minute he steps onto the court at tryouts. He is a quality guy who is very positive and full of energy and passion. Tom’s players love playing for him because they know he is ‘egoless’ and is an athlete driven coach”, commented club president Kelly Smith. “We are also happy James will be joining Tom as James is a head coach in his own right and together, they have made a great team at North Park.
Leça is also excited to be back at Pakmen. “I am thrilled to be returning to the Pakmen Volleyball Club, the best club in Ontario and one of the premier clubs in the country. I’ve always had the most incredible experience coaching with this club and the highest regard for their operations, development, personnel, respect, and achievement. I have coached the U13 boys age group before so I know how to get the most out of the players. My good friend and long time co-coach James Gomez will be joining me on this journey and I couldn’t ask for a better person to build this program with. I am overjoyed to announce my return and James’ introduction, as it gives us the opportunity to work with top notch people, talent, and grow as coaches. We are looking forward to meeting players and getting started in the fall.”
