U16 Boys are the 2014 National Champions

Pakmen’s U16 Gold boys team won their 3rd straight National Championship today, at the Western National Championships held in Calgary, Alberta.

The team recently won the U16 Ontario Provincial Championship after going undefeated all season. The boys were also undefeated in Calgary although they were pushed to some exciting 3-set matches by eager opponents trying to topple the defending champions from the dominant Mississauga Volleyball Club. The team received excellent volleyball training by head coach Ed Turalinski and assistant coaches Ashely Nixon and Jessica Turalinski. Pakmen high performance coaches Lennard Krapp and Jeff Chung provided world class technical training for the players throughout the season.

In the quarters the Pakmen defeated Aurora Storm Lightning 25-13, 18-25, 15-10.

In the semis, the Pakmen defeated, London Volleyball Club Fire 26-28, 25-22, and 15-6. In the finals they defeated Canuck U16 Black (Calgary) 25-14, 25-23.

Sharone Vernon-Evans was named the tournament MVP and Parvir Jhaji and Malcom Prentice were named Tournament All Stars.

The team consists of Alex Reiner, Andrew Dybka, Andrew Snondulak, Dylan Thring, Jackson Kilfoyle, Jasdeep Grewal, Joel Lilycrop, Jordan Figueira, Malcolm Prentice, Parvir Jhaji, Sharone Vernon-Evans and Tucker Johnson.
