FIVB Women’s World Championship 2022

The 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship took place in the Netherlands and Poland. The matches of the tournament were played in such cities as Apeldoorn, Arnhem, Gdansk, Gliwice, Lodz and Rotterdam. It was the 19-th women’s world championship in the history of volleyball.
The tournament brought together the best women’s national teams in the world. Totally, 24 countries participated in the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.
Today, we’ll talk you through the event. We’ll tell you about the qualification and describe the matches of the tournament’s first round, second round, quarterfinals, semifinals and final round. On top of that, we’ll provide the final rankings of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.

The Qualification of 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship
Among the teams that took part in the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship are: Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameron, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Colonia, the Dominican Republic, Germany, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, the Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Poland, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey and the United States.
The First Round of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship
The matches of the first round were held in Arnhem, Lodz and Gdansk. The teams were divided into 4 pools – pool A, pool B, pool C and pool D. Each of pools consisted of 6 teams.
Pool A
Italy won 5 matches and took the 1-st place in pool A.
Belgium won 4 matches, lost 1 match and took the 2-nd place in pool A.
The Netherlands won 3 matches, lost 2 matches and took the 3-rd place in pool A.
Puerto Rico won 2 matches, lost 3 matches and took the 4-th place in pool A.
Kenya won 1 match, lost 4 matches and took the 5-th place in pool A.
Cameroon won no matches and lost 5 matches and took the 6-th place in pool A.
Pool B
Turkey won 4 matches, lost 1 match and took the 1-st place in pool B.
Thailand won 4 matches, lost 1 match and took the 2-nd place in pool B.
The Dominican Republic won 3 matches, lost 2 matches and took the 3-rd place in pool B.
Poland 3 won matches, lost 2 matches and took the 4-th place in pool B.
South Korea won 1 match, lost 4 matches and took the 5-th place in pool B.
Croatia won no matches, lost 5 matches and took the 6-th place in pool B.
Pool C
Serbia won 5 matches, lost no matches and took the 1-st place in pool C.
The United States won 4 matches, lost 1 match and took the 2-nd place in pool C.
Canada won 3 matches, lost 2 matches and took the 3-rd place in pool C.
Germany won 2 matches, lost 3 matches and took the 4-th place in pool C.
Bulgaria won 1 match, lost 4 matches and took the 5-th place in pool C.
Kazakhstan won no matches, lost 5 matches and took the 6-th place in pool C.
Pool D
China won 4 matches, lost 1 match and took the 1-st place in pool D.
Japan won 4 matches, lost 1 match and took the 2-nd place in pool D.
Brazil won 4 matches, lost 1 match and took the 3-rd place in pool D.
Argentina won 2 matches, lost 3 matches and took the 4-th place in pool D.
Czech Republic won 1 match, lost 4 matches and took the 5-th place in pool D.
Colombia won no matches, lost 5 matches and took the 6-th place in pool D.
The Second Round of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship
Totally, 16 teams reached the second round of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship. Among the countries that reached the second round of the competition are: Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, the Dominican Republic, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Puerto Rico, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey and the United States. The teams of the second round were divided into 2 pools – pool E and pool F. The matches of the second round were played in Lodz and Rotterdam.
Pool E
Italy won 8 matches, lost 1 match and took the 1-st place in pool E.
Brazil won 8 matches, lost 1 match and took the 2-nd place in pool E.
Japan won 7 matches, lost 2 matches and took the 3-rd place in pool E.
China won 7 matches, lost 2 matches and took the 4-th place in pool E.
Belgium won 5 matches, lost 4 matches and took the 5-th place in pool E.
The Netherlands won 4 matches, lost 5 matches and took the 6-th place in pool E.
Puerto Rico won 3 matches, lost 6 matches and took the 7-th place in pool E.
Argentina won 2 matches, lost 7 matches and took the 8-th place in pool E.
Pool F
Serbia won 9 matches, lost no matches and took the 1-st place in pool F.
The United States won 7 matches, lost 2 matches and took the 2-nd place in pool F.
Turkey won 6 matches, lost 3 matches and took the 3-rd place in pool F.
Poland won 6 matches, lost 3 matches and took the 4-th place in pool F.
Canada won 5 matches, lost 4 matches and took the 5-th place in pool F.
The Dominican Republic won 4 matches, lost 5 matches and took the 6-th place in pool F.
Thailand won 4 matches, lost 5 matches and took the 7-th place in pool F.
Germany won 3 matches, lost 6 matches and took the 8-th place in pool F.
The Quarterfinals of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship
Among the teams that reached the quarterfinals are: Brazil, Japan, China, Italy, Poland, Serbia, Turkey and the United States.
Italy defeated China 3 – 1 and reached the semifinals of the tournament.
Brazil defeated Japan 3 – 2 and reached the semifinals of the tournament.
Serbia defeated Poland 3 – 2 and reached the semifinals of the tournament.
The United States defeated Turkey 3 – 0 and reached the semifinals of the tournament.
The Semifinals of 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship
Among the teams that reached the semifinals are: Brazil, Italy, Serbia and the United States.
Brazil defeated Italy 3 – 1 in the semifinals and became the finalist of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.
Serbia defeated the United States 3 – 1 in the semifinals and became the finalist of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.
The 3-rd Place Match of 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship
Italy defeated the United States 3 – 0 in the 3-rd place match of the tournament. As a result, Italy earned the Bronze medal at the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.
The Final Match of 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship
Serbia defeated Brazil 3 – 0 in the final match of the tournament. As a result, Serbia earned the Gold medal and Brazil earned the Silver medal at the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.
Rankings of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship
Serbia took the 1-st place in the competition.
Brazil took the 2-nd place in the competition.
Italy took the 3-rd place in the competition.
The United States took the 4-th place in the competition.
Japan took the 5-th place in the competition.
China took the 6-th place in the competition.
Poland took the 7-th place in the competition.
Turkey took the 8-th place in the competition.

Final Thoughts
The 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship is over and the winners are clear. The Serbia women’s national volleyball team earned the Gold medal, the Brazil women’s national volleyball team earned the Silver medal and Italy women’s national volleyball team earned the Bronze medal at the tournament. And of course, we’ll watch closely the most popular volleyball events in the future.
